March 20, 2021 - One of our key strengths at Drop & Hook is social media and content marketing for the transportation and logistics industry. I have had the privilege of creating transportation and logistics social media and marketing content since 2014, and I have discovered a few reoccurring truths in that time.
While working with various clients—from over-the-road trucking companies to logistics technologies and supply chain services—I have seen in their businesses that making a simple optimization is incredibly powerful when repeated across thousands of customer or employee experiences. I have also seen the incredible impact of finding a true win-win. Something more than the sum of its parts that results in a net positive for everyone is scarce but—when found—industry moving. So, when I set out to create my content marketing consultancy in 2018, that was what I had in mind: a win-win that worked.
In transportation terms, Drop & Hook has been one of those win-wins. For those who don't know, drop-and-hook freight refers to the practice of simply "dropping" a trailer or container at one location and then "hooking" into another waiting trailer to be able to move on to the next load. The driver can avoid touching the freight or dealing with dwell time, and for the shipper, both efficiency and costs improve.
How many stories could these trailers hold? Probably more than you’d think.
So what does that have to do with marketing?
